Collecting your car at Mohammed V

Mohammed V airport lies about 30 km from Casablanca, roughly 35 minutes by road in normal conditions. Keys are handed over on arrival: the agency meets you in the hall with a sign with the driver’s name, after baggage reclaim.

The return works the same way: bring the car back to the airport car park at the agreed time, leaving a margin before check-in. The condition report is done on the spot, with the agency.

Terminals and access

Mohammed V has T1, T2. Partner agencies serve every terminal: tell yours to the agency from your account if you know it, or simply give it your flight and it will work it out.

Distances from Mohammed V

A few common destinations from the airport, with approximate road distances:

DestinationRoad distance
Casablanca city centre≈ 30 km
Maârif≈ 32 km
Aïn Diab≈ 38 km
Rabat≈ 100 km

Leaving Mohammed V: thirty kilometres before the city

Mohammed V is not a city airport. Thirty kilometres separate it from central Casablanca, about half an hour when nothing slows you down. That is the first thing to build into your pick-up time: a flight landing at 10 pm does not put keys in your hand at 10.15. The airport has two terminals, T1 and T2 — here too, say which one rather than simply "the airport".

After that the distances all look alike: the centre at thirty kilometres, Maârif at thirty-two, Aïn Diab at thirty-eight. The one real outlier is Rabat, a hundred kilometres from the runway. Plenty of travellers land at CMN for a meeting in the capital: the car is picked up here and the drive becomes part of the first rental day, instead of a transfer paid for separately.

That is not a detour, especially when a search in Rabat itself does not offer the car you want: starting from Mohammed V is a simple way to have a car in the capital — collect it on arrival, drive to Rabat, keep it there. The Casablanca page sets out the districts, the pick-up points and the parking situation once you are in town.

What to have ready on arrival

Bring the main driver’s licence and an ID card or passport. The deposit depends on the agency: some cars are rented with a deposit, others with none. When one is required, it is paid at the counter and returned when the car comes back; the amount is shown on each vehicle page and Loccor never collects it. The form of the deposit is set by the agency.

A foreign licence in the Latin alphabet is accepted; otherwise bring an international permit. Walk around the car with the agent and photograph any scratches before setting off: that is your best protection when handing it back.

Can I rent a car and collect it directly at Mohammed V airport in Morocco?

Yes. Partner agencies hand over the keys in the arrivals hall. Some ask for a few hours’ notice, to be stated when booking; the details are on each vehicle page.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

A delay does not cancel the pickup, but the agency has to be told: the booking form has no “flight number” field. Message the agency from your account as soon as you know your new arrival time — the conversation opens automatically once the booking is confirmed.

Are there tolls between the airport and Casablanca?

It depends on the route. Moroccan motorways are tolled, payable in cash or by card at the barriers. Keep some cash on you when you land, before changing money in town.

Does renting at the airport cost more?

Some agencies add an airport delivery fee, others do not. On Loccor the price shown is the price you pay: any fees appear on the vehicle page before you book, not at the desk.

What is the Mohammed V airport code?

CMN. It is the three-letter IATA code printed on your boarding pass and on the arrivals boards. The airport is about 30 km from Casablanca, around 35 minutes by road in normal traffic.
